- KNOW YOUR BUDGET! Many renters are disappointed when they find out they cannot afford a property, I highly recommend you sit down and create a monthly budget to see how much money you are willing to put towards a rental.
- Make a list of your requirements (Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Sq Ft, proximity to desired locations, parking ect….)
- Visit www.MySmartMove.com and click “I am a renter” this site will provide you with an accurate FICO score & background check which is required by most landlords. The cost is only $30 and it will improve your application submission time.
- Make sure you have the funds required for the lease closing costs. On average you can expect to pay a deposit equal to or greater than the monthly lease price. Other fees that can occur are Key Deposits, Pet Deposits and more. Prices may vary for these added fees but usually are between $20-200 for key deposits and $400+ for pets.
